Swansea City are exploring the option of building a hotel on the grounds next to the Swansea.com Stadium.
The 21,088-seater venue - used by Swansea City and Ospreys - is owned by the council, although the Swans own a patch of land behind the South Stand outright and, as such, are able to use the plot for development plans.
And speaking at a fans' forum at the stadium on Wednesday night, chief executive Julian Winter revealed the Swans have a potential partner interested in helping the club to create a purpose-built hotel adjacent to their home.
"The stadium is under a lease with the council, but that strip of land is owned by the football club directly," confirmed Winter when asked about plans for the land.
"In the past we've looked at plans for building a hotel at that site, but they didn't come to fruition. We have more recently looked at a hotel.
"We have a potential hotel partner who would like to do it. With all of these things, they need funding. It would always be an equity share between the football club and a partner, so it's quite complicated to deliver a hotel at this moment in time to be honest.
"We have considered and are still considering whether that becomes a fan zone rather than a supporters' bar. A fan zone, I think, would be more suitable for that land if we're not going to do a hotel. Those things have been in consideration.
"We need to get to a point of certainty or not on a hotel before you bother investing in a fan zone."
The Swansea.com Stadium - which was renamed from the Liberty Stadium in August 2021 - opened in 2005 and has played host to Wales, Wales Women and Swansea City Ladies matches.
It has also put on numerous concerts over the years, with Elton John, Rod Stewart, Kings of Leon, Lionel Richie and Little Mix among the groups and solo artists to perform in front of a Swansea crowd.
