Swansea City have had a bid accepted for Blackpool striker Jerry Yates, WalesOnline understands.
Subject to a medical and personal terms being agreed, the striker is seemingly set to become the club's third signing of the summer, following on from the captures of Josh Ginnelly and Josh Key.
It's not yet clear how much the Swans will pay for the 26-year-old, who's earned plenty of admirers on the back of his goalscoring exploits for the Tangerines.
Leicester City were reportedly among those monitoring the forward, who netted 15 goals in all competitions last season.
West Bromwich Albion, Bristol City and Ipswich Town are among the other clubs to have recently been credited with an interest in Yates, but the Swans have clearly made a significant breakthrough in the chase for his signature.
It remains to be seen whether the Swans' bid will have any ramifications in the future of Joel Piroe, whose future remains uncertain this summer.
The Dutchman is highly likely to be sold before the close of the window, with a host of clubs showing an interest, including Atalanta, Leicester City and Southampton.
Michael Duff was arguably already in need of added firepower up front, regardless of Piroe's future, with the club recently linked with a move for Roda JC's Dylan Vente.
The Swans were heavily linked with a move for Ellis Simms earlier in the window, but missed out after he joined Coventry City.
However, it seems they are now set to bolster their attacking ranks.
