Swansea Airshow 2022: Full list of road closures during the event

The Wales Airshow is returning to Swansea Bay for 2022 after the annual two-day event was cancelled both in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. The attraction sees thousands of people flock to the seafront each year as aircrafts, including the Red Arrows, take to the skies.

The Airshow is Wales' biggest free family event and as such road closures are put in place in and around it to facilitate this and make sure the event is delivered safely. The Airshow takes place on Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3, but due to the scale of the attraction, road closures will start on Friday, July 1 and remain in place until Monday, July 4.

Explaining why road closures are being put in place a day early, the Wales Airshow website states: "Our number one priority is to keep the public safe. The closure will help us do that. In addition, the Airshow has grown from 75,000 visitors in its first year to over 250,000 in 2019.

"It is outgrowing the available space on the promenade for ground events and the number of visitors. By allowing ground event organisers to build their stands and attractions on Friday there will be more space for more attractions and more room for people to move around."

Ahead of the event, we've put together a handy guide, including which aircrafts are taking part, parking information and the best place to watch the displays, you can find it here. But what are the road closures? Here's everything you need to know.
