Swanky London two-bed flat seeks lodger for room costing a mighty £3,800 a month

A room in a two bed flat in a highly-sought after area of London has been put up for rent for an astonishing £3,800 per month.

While a whole house would be the least that most people would be expecting for the huge sum that is more than most people's salaries, a doctor has put up an advert for just a bedroom.

A would-be tenant would also have access to a shared living room and a balcony.

And there are other advantages to the £3,800 per month rental as there would be access to a pool, gym and sauna, reports the Daily Star.

The property is in Lancaster Gate, which is situated between Mayfair and Kensington, and the advert reassuringly also states that bills are included as is access to other shared space.

The ideal flatmate is described as a non-smoker without pets, whilst couples are not permitted to rent the room.

Listed on rental app SpareRoom, the ad reads in full: "I am an aesthetic Doctor and travel a lot. I have a two bed luxury flat with a pool, gym, sauna etc. I was thinking of sharing my flat with a person either professional or student.

"Please message me for further details and photos of the flat. Have a nice day."

Future tenants could have to fork out even more to live with the doctor if research by real estate services company JLL is anything to go by, meanwhile.

The firm says prices in London could grow by another 15% by 2025, whilst it forecasts a 3% growth in 2023 alone.

The flat appears to be situated in The Lancasters development where a two-bedroom apartment is currently listed for sale by estate agents Savills for a jaw-dropping £8.95million.

According to Savills: "The Lancasters is a highly sought after development set behind a white stucco fronted Grade II Listed period façade that dates back to the mid-1850's and was once the largest terrace of its kind in Europe.

"Meticulously landscaped grounds overlook the green open spaces of Hyde Park. Residents benefit from 24 hour concierge, valet parking and also enjoy plenty of facilities including a fully equipped gymnasium, swimming pool, sauna and lounge."
