Sutton sends clear message to Celtic at Ross County: 'Banish the memory' of Dortmund

Celtic travel to Dingwall to face Ross County this afternoon, and former striker and pundit Chris Sutton's message to his former team couldn't be clearer.

Speaking on behalf of Sky Sports while previewing the Scottish Premiership encounter, Sutton said he understood the reaction to Celtic's 7-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in midweek, but likewise reckons it was in some ways overblown given it was only one result.

The former Celtic forward said he was disappointed that Celtic couldn't react in the moment to a Dortmund side who "smelt blood", but said Brendan Rodgers and his players remain in a good position in the new-look league-phase of the Champions League.

On returning to domestic action this afternoon, Celtic will aim to put Tuesday's loss behind them, which is exactly the sentiment Sutton projected to Sky Sports ahead of kick-off.

"We know how the game will pan out," said Sutton. "Celtic will dominate possession, but it's about Celtic being brutalist and banishing the memory of Tuesday night.

"For Celtic it's about coming here, trying to demolish Ross County and banish those memories of Dortmund in the Champions League."
