Sutton in cheeky Rangers dig after Ibrox club bring the title closer to Celtic

Chris Sutton couldn't resist getting in a cheeky dig at Rangers after their loss to Hibernian on Saturday moved Celtic closer to securing the Scottish Premiership title.

Barry Ferguson's men went 1-0 down early on at Ibrox as Jack Butland struggled to hold Dylan Levvitt's shot from the edge of the box.

Martin Boyle then doubled Hibs' advantage in the second 45 as he raced through on goal following Jordan Obita's ball in behind the Rangers backline.

Post-match, Sutton immediately posted on X, quipping, 'How did Bazball go today?'.

Rangers' fifth home loss in a row means Celtic can now win the title in less than a week, when they host Kilmarnock at Parkhead next Saturday. That is assuming they beat St Johnstone in Perth this afternoon, of course.

They can go 16 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership with a victory at McDiarmid Park, a ground at which they won 6-0 earlier in the season.

Simo Valakari's side are battling the drop and currently sit eight points away from a relegation play-off place after Dundee beat St Mirren 2-0 yesterday.

The last time his team faced Celtic, Brendan Rodgers' men triumphed 4-0 thanks to goals from Nicolas Kuhn, Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda.

A similar result today would put the Scottish Premiership champions within one win of retaining their crown.
