A "suspicious" man was arrested after a bag of white powder was found on him.

Officers spotted the man today, Tuesday, January 3, on Larch Road in Egremont at around 1.25am and he was detained for a search. A bag of white powder was found after this search, police said.

A further search of an address nearby found further white powder, bags of suspected cannabis, and other paraphernalia. A 31-year-old man from Egremont was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs. He was taken to a police station for questioning.
