TIRUPATI: High drama and Suspense continued over the possible arrest of Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy in the sensational murder case of former parliamentarian YS Vivekananda Reddy as the Central bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths probing the case, landed at Kurnool in the early hours on Monday, and held back to back parlays with the Kurnool district police administration, seeking their on-ground logistics support to prevent any unwarranted situation.
Monday's development in the ongoing CBI probe into the Viveka murder case, comes in the wake of the Kadapa MP missing three back to back CBI appearances for questioning within a week.
While Avinash Reddy cited short notice as the reason for not being able to appear before the CBI for May 16th questioning, he cited his mother YS Lakshmi's heart related illness and subsequent hospitalization as the reason for his missed appearances before the CBI on May 19 and 22.
After the Kadapa MP communicated to the CBI through a letter that he would not be able to attend Monday's questioning and sought 10 more days time for the next appearance, the CBI sleuths themselves landed in Kurnool on Monday morning and initiated Avinash Reddy's custody/questioning proceedings after consulting the Kurnool SP G Krishnakanth earlier in the day.
And as news of the possible arrest of the Kadapa MP spread around, a large number of Avinash Reddy's followers and YSRCP activists started gathering around the Viswa Bharati super specialty hospital, where the Kadapa MP has been staying along with his ailing mother.
In the meanwhile, the police deployment at the Viswa Bharati hospital and all roads leading to the hospital were also spruced up, after the district police wing sensed an adverse law and order situation if the Kadapa MP was arrested.
Roads leading to the hospital were heavily barricaded and shops and commercial establishments in the vicinity were shut down.
Amidst all these developments right through the day, Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's mother YS Vijayamma visited the Viswa Bharati hospital and enquired about the well being of Avinash Reddy's mother, who has been undergoing treatment at the hospital.
In the meantime, though Avinash Reddy did not get any relief from the Supreme Court on Monday, his plea to the Supreme Court to direct the Telangana HC's vacation bench to admit his restrain plea against the CBI for hearing, is scheduled in the SC on Tuesday.
The Kadapa MP also wrote another letter to the CBI, asking the agency to grant him five days time to appear for the next questioning on May 27.
The Kurnool district police administration which strengthened the bandobust in and around the hospital and other parts of the town, remained silent on the developments and no official communication was released on Monday.
