A suspected stolen car has crashed into a wall after a "short" police chase on Thursday evening.
At around 8.15pm on Thursday, October 20, Merseyside Police officers spotted a blue Ford Mondeo, that was believed to have been stolen, on Mackets Lane in Halewood. But when police attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver of the car sped off.
After a "short pursuit", the car crashed into a wall on Halewood Road. A spokesperson for Merseyside Police confirmed that a man was later stopped by police on Halewood Way and arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug and drug driving.

He was taken to a police station in Merseyside and has since been released under investigation. Many residents were quick to express their concern on social media after "loads" of police cars were seen "speeding" in Halewood, towards the Mackets Lane area.
