Suspected murderer named by police after man stabbed to death

Police have charged a woman with murdering a man after he was found stabbed to death in Old Swan.

On Monday, March 14, police were called to reports that a man had been stabbed multiple times at around 8.55pm. At the scene, on Rock Grove, officers attempted CPR on the 39-year-old but he was pronounced dead.

A woman was later found at a property nearby with stab wounds who was taken to hospital for treatment for her injuries. Police later confirmed that the 25-year-old woman was discharged from hospital and taken into custody.

Merseyside police have now revealed that Learna Cheng, aged 25, of Rock Grove, has now been charged with murder. She will be kept in custody and is due to appear in court this morning on Wednesday, March 16.

The man who was found dead has been named locally as 'Swan legend' Dylan. Hundreds of people paid tribute to the victim who was described as an 'absolute gentleman'.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We have charged a woman following a fatal stabbing in Old Swan on Monday, 14 March. At around 8.55pm, emergency services were called to Rock Grove after a report that a man in his 40s was found in the street with significant injuries. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"Learna Cheng, aged 25, of Rock Grove, Liverpool, was arrested by police and has now been charged with murder. She was remanded in custody and appeared in court this morning, Wednesday 16 March.
