A suspected drug driver was arrested after a crash closed a major road on Boxing Day.
East Lancashire Road is currently closed after a crash at the junction with Stonebridge Lane. Police were called to the scene at 8.58pm on Monday, December 26, to reports of a crash involving two cars, one of which was a private hire taxi.
One person has been arrested at the scene on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs. A police spokesperson said two injuries were initially reported. However, they were unable to confirm the nature of any injuries at this stage.

Photos show police and two ambulances at the scene this evening. Merseyside Police said officers are still at the scene awaiting the recovery of both vehicles.
