A scuba diver has died at Cape Jaffa in the south-east of South Australia, where emergency services were called this afternoon after reports the man was in trouble.
The 50-year-old from the state's Barossa Valley region died at the scene, police said.
Police and emergency services were called to the local boat ramp at about 2:20pm after receiving reports a man was unconscious.
It is understood the man had been diving from a boat off the coast and got into trouble.
"Sadly the man aged 50 from the Barossa died at the scene," police said.
Police are preparing a report for the coroner.
The area is popular with divers and swimmers because of its nearby reefs.
