A man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a head-on smash last night (Saturday).
Police were called to the scene in Kirkby shortly after 8.30pm yesterday. Two cars - a Ford Mondeo and a Citroen - were left badly damaged.
A police spokesperson said: "We can confirm that officers arrested a man on suspicion of drink driving following a road traffic collision involving two cars in Kirkby last night (Saturday).

"Officers attended at the scene where two cars - a Ford Mondeo and a Citroen - had collided. The 44-year-old driver of the Citroen, who had suffered slight injury, was taken to hospital as a precaution. He has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving."
