A man has been charged after a driver reportedly brandished a meat cleaver during a road rage incident.
Merseyside Police confirmed they have charged a man on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, criminal damage and driving offences following an incident in Wirral earlier this week. On Tuesday, April 4 Merseyside Police stopped a van on Rainford Road and the driver was arrested.
The force added that the motorist was arrested and their vehicle was seized. In their tweet, sent at 10:41pm on Tuesday (April 4), Merseyside Police wrote: "This vehicle was stopped on Rainford Road after it had been involved in a road rage incident earlier in the day when the driver brandished a meat cleaver.

"They were arrested for this and were also disqualified x3. Vehicle seized."
Samson Evans, 30 years, of no fixed address, has now been charged with possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place, three counts of driving while disqualified, three counts of using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party insurance, criminal damage and affray.
He appeared at Wirral adult remand court on Thursday, April 6 and has been remanded into custody.
