A man has been charged with burglary after an incident in Bargain Booze.
A man, armed with a metal bar, entered the shop in The Croft, Stockbridge Village, at around 8pm on Saturday, March 25. Staff members ran for safety and the man then took money, alcohol and cigarettes.
Bernard Ennis, 46, of Custley Hey in Stockbridge Village has now been charged in connection to the incident. He has also been charged with with intentionally causing harassment, alarm or distress in relation to a separate incident that took place in Huyton, in November 2022.

A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "A Knowsley man has been arrested and charged with a burglary offence following an incident in Stockbridge Village. At around 8pm on Saturday 25 March, it was reported that a man entered Bargain Booze in The Croft with a metal bar.
"The two shop assistants retreated to safety while he took money, alcohol and cigarettes and then made off. No injuries were reported.
"Bernard Ennis, 46 years, of Custley Hey in Stockbridge Village has been charged with burglary. He was also charged with intentionally causing harassment, alarm or distress in relation to an incident that took place in Huyton in November.
"Ennis appeared at Wirral Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 28 March, and has been remanded in custody."
