A suspect has been named after a man was found to be hiding a "large quantity" of class A drugs up his bum.
Merseyside Police announced on Sefton Police Facebook page that officers spotted a drug deal taking place in a car in Bootle on Wednesday, June 22. When the passenger was searched and found to have secreted a large quantity of class A drugs up his anus.
Also during the search, approximately £1,000 was recovered as well as a mobile phone linked to drug supply. Following the discovery two men aged 33 and 36 years old were arrested. Over the last eight days the two men have remained in custody which was authorised by the courts and in the early hours of today, one of the men passed the drugs.

Francis Tanner has now been charged by the CPS with possession of criminal property, obstruction of misuse of drugs act search, concerned in the offering of class A drugs and possession with intent to supply heroin. The 36-year-old will now appear at Wirral Magistrates Court this morning after he was denied bail.
Tanner has been recalled to prison after having his licence revoked.
The Facebook post said: "Operation Pelican Officers on 22nd June arrested a 33-year-old male and a 36-year-old male for drug supply offences and possession of criminal property. Officers had sighted a vehicle in a drugs transaction before stopping the vehicle in the Bootle area.
"The passenger upon being searched has secreted a large quantity of suspected class A drugs up his anus. Also during the search approximately £1,000 was recovered and a mobile phone linked to drug supply. Both males were arrested and taken to a police station for questioning.
Over the past 8 days during the male's stay in one of Merseyside's finest hotel suites (after further detention was authorised by the court) in the early hours of this morning the male has passed the drugs. Francis Tanner, 36, has now been charged by CPS with possession of criminal property, obstruct misuse of drugs act search, concerned in the offering of class A drugs, possession with intent to supply heroin.
"Tanner will appear before Wirral Magistrates Court this morning after being denied bail. Further to this Tanner has been recalled to prison after having his license revoked."
