A suspect has been charged after an emergency worker was beaten outside the Suites Hotel.
A 19-year-old has been charged with violent disorder and assault by beating an emergency worker during a protest. Merseyside Police was called to Ribblers Lane, Kirkby, to originally facilitate a peaceful protest and counter protest at around 6.30pm on Friday, February 10.
But Merseyside Police said a number of people had turned up at the Knowsley hotel "intent on using a planned protest to carry out violent and despicable behaviour". A total of 13 men and two women, between the ages of 13 and 54, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and taken to police stations across Merseyside.

And now a spokesperson for Merseyside Police has confirmed Jarad Skeete, 19, of Irwell Close, Aigburth, has been charged. The suspect was remanded into custody and will appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court tomorrow, Monday, February 13.
The remaining 14 people arrested have been conditionally bailed pending the outcome of police enquiries. Pictures taken by the ECHO yesterday outside the hotel showed abandoned riot gear strewn across an area of woodland. A large patch of ground close to the hotel's perimeter was fire-scorched where a police Matrix van was set on fire.
A spokesperson for the force yesterday said police were continuing to gather CCTV, drone footage and other evidence to identify those involved. The spokesperson added: "Once again, we would remind people to pass this information directly to police as social media speculation and comment can jeopardise live investigations."
