The suspect in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson has been located in Pennsylvania, according to Lt. Col. George Bivens of the Pennsylvania State Police. The suspect had been in Pennsylvania for several days following the shooting in Manhattan.
During a news conference on Monday, Bivens stated that law enforcement officials are actively working to piece together the suspect's movements. He expressed confidence that a clearer picture of the suspect's activities in New York and Pennsylvania will emerge as evidence is analyzed.
Electronic devices belonging to the suspect are currently being downloaded for further investigation. Additionally, items found in the suspect's possession at the time of his arrest in Altoona are being examined.
Bivens mentioned that part of the investigation will involve retracing the suspect's steps. Businesses frequented by the suspect in the area have been identified, along with activities he engaged in, leading to the discovery of more evidence.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro revealed that the suspect traveled between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, making stops in various locations, including Altoona where he was apprehended.
Previous reports from New York police indicated that the suspect departed New York City on an interstate bus following the shooting. Surveillance cameras captured the suspect entering the George Washington Bridge Bus Station but not leaving.
