A suspect in a gold theft case, who was in police custody, died reportedly in a private hospital at Eluru.
According to sources, Narendra (23) was taken into custody on Saturday at Visakhapatnam in connection with a theft in a gold shop at Mangalagiri recently. When he was being brought back, he reportedly fell sick near Eluru and was shifted to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead.
A case has been registered and investigation is on.
