Secret Service acting Director Ronald Rowe Jr. revealed details about the recent incident involving suspect Ryan Wesley Routh and former President Donald Trump. According to Rowe, Routh did not have a direct line of sight of the former president when he was apprehended by agents on Sunday.
Routh was reportedly situated on the public side of the golf course fence, away from where Trump was located. As Trump was moving through the fifth fairway, out of view from the sixth green, an agent conducting a visual sweep of the area spotted Routh armed with what appeared to be a rifle. In response, the agent discharged his firearm.
