A man has died and two more people have been seriously injured after a stabbing in Birmingham.
One man has been arrested in connection with the attack, which took place in the early hours of Thursday morning.
A member of the public at the scene said there are “too many stabbings in this city” following the fatal attack.
Michelle Needlem, told Birmingham Live: “I just hope the victims are okay. It sounds awful. We have too many stabbings in this city. What are people thinking?”
Another member of the public, Mohammad, told Birmingham Live that Soho Road gets cordoned off for incidents “around 20 times a year”, adding that he is “so used to seeing this”.
West Midlands Police said a person was found in Soho Road in the Handsworth area of Birmingham with critical injuries at around 3.20am. They were rushed to hospital where they later died.
Workers are being told they cannot go to the shops and businesses in the area around where the attack happened and instead they should go home.

“Two others also been taken to hospital to be treated for stab injuries. We’re working to establish if anyone else was injured, and if so we’d urge them to contact us.

“Part of Soho Road has been cordoned off while enquiries continue. Anyone with information can contact us via log 347 of 22 December. We’ll look to provide further updates in due course.”
