Suspect, 37, charged with murder after man killed in Harrow knife attack

Sussex Road, Harrow - (Google Maps)

A suspect has been charged with murder after a man suffered fatal stab wounds at a home in north west London.

The 48-year-old victim was attacked at an address on Sussex Road, Harrow at around 4.40pm on Wednesday.

He was taken to hospital but later died from his wounds.

Javan Lee, 37, of the same road appeared before Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Friday accuse of murder

Lee was treated in hospital for minor injuries before being taken into custody.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said they had notified the victim’s next of kin. They are being supported by specialist officers.

Detective Inspector Luke Hampton of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said: “This is a complex scene with multiple people living inside the address.

“At this early stage we believe this to have been an isolated incident and there is no apparent risk to the public.

“A man has lost his life and a family has received the worst possible news. If you have information please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”

Superintendent Chris Clarke - who leads Harrow, Barnet and Brent’s local policing - said: “We are supporting our Specialist Crime colleagues as they make their enquiries and local people will notice a more visible police presence in the area to provide reassurance.

“If you feel worried or if you have information please don’t hesitate to approach officers or get in touch with your local Neighbourhood policing team.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting CAD reference 5281/30OCT24, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
