Susanna Reid walks out of GMB studio over missing X Factor star

Susanna Reid left the Good Morning Britain studio on Wednesday to console the mother of missing X Factor star Levi Davis.

Levi's mum Julie Davis appeared on the ITV breakfast show to give a heartbreaking interview about her son, who has been missing in Barcelona for three months. Since then, it has emerged that he was seen on CCTV leaving the Old Irish Pub near the Las Ramblas, just hours after he arrived to the Spanish city on a boat from Ibiza.

Since then, his passport has been found near the city's port but otherwise, there have been a few unconfirmed sightings.

Julie told Susanna and her co-host Ed Balls: "It's been very very difficult, I've been trying to take one day at a time. Recently I started back work, just to have some kind of normality because I think sitting at home, looking at the four walls is doing my head in.

"Also on that night, he made a phone call to me to say he was thinking of staying at a hostel here before I take my next journey. I said 'Oh Levi, how many more times do you wanna take money off me? You're going to have to sort yourself out this time'."

She added: "He said he had some friends he could get in touch with and that's the last phone call we had." Julie then broke down in tears as she admitted she sensed something was up, the Mirror reports.

She said: "Just before he left, there was a message that - maybe the powers up above - that just said to me, just give him a hug as you don't know if it'll be your last," she shared before breaking down in tears as Susanna held her hand and consoled her.

Julie admitted she wished she had more information about what was going on, as she was forced to go through the British consulate because of the language barrier between her and the Spanish police.

Susanna was clearly moved by it all and held Julie's hand throughout. She said: "Julie we're all with you, we'll keep on it. Our hearts are with you. Lots of love okay?"

When they returned to the studio after a break, Ed Balls was presenting alone and confirmed Susanna had stepped out of the studio for the time being to be with Julie and support her. She returned after around 15 minutes and apologised for her taking some time away from the show as she praised Julie for being a "tower of strength".
