The mother of rugby player Levi Davis who has been missing for more than three months shared an emotional appeal on ITV's Good Morning Britain. The 24-year-old Bath Rugby player was last seen leaving a pub in Barcelona on October 29.
CCTV showed him leaving the Old Irish Pub near the Las Ramblas, just hours after he arrived in the Spanish city on a boat from Ibiza. Since his disappearance his passport has been found near the city's port but otherwise, there have been a few unconfirmed sightings.
The winger is also known for his television appearances, having featured on Celebrity X Factor alongside Ben Foden and Thom Evans, as well as having appeared on Celebs Go Dating.
In an emotional interview with ITV's Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, January 25, his mum Julie Davis said: "It's been very very difficult, I've been trying to take one day at a time. Recently I started back work, just to have some kind of normality because I think sitting at home, looking at the four walls is doing my head in.
"Also on that night, he made a phone call to me to say he was thinking of staying at a hostel here before I take my next journey. I said, oh Levi, how many more times do you wanna take money off me? You're going to have to sort yourself out this time."
In the interview, Julie, who was visibly emotional, was comforted by presenter Susanna Reid. She continued: "It really is [my worst nightmare]. There's always that mother's instinct. Just before he left there was a message that said to me, 'give him a hug because you just don't know if this is going to be your last'.
"I've had a lot of support from family friends and of course a private investigator has been working very hard and the Spanish police have done their bit as well but I think where it's been quite difficult is not sort of having the information come through because of course there's the language barrier and having to go via the British Consulate and then the feedback of news or updates are very slow.
"I know they are pressing in terms of updates but things like in terms of the CCTV coverage we got information back saying unfortunately it's too late because the spanish police had to go to court to get papers signed so they could access CCTV coverage and by the time they did get it all the footage had been deleted. It's very frustrating."
When the show returned to air after a break, Ed Balls was presenting alone and confirmed Susanna had stepped out of the studio to support Julie. She returned after around 15 minutes and apologised for her taking some time away from the show as she praised Julie for being a "tower of strength".
