Susan Boyle delighted Britain's Got Talent fans as she unexpectedly popped up on the 2023 finale singing a duet with the cast of Les Miserables. The 62-year-old joined the cast in performing a rendition of Do You Hear The People Sing?
After the performance, she said: “It feels great (to be here). It’s extra special for me, last April I suffered a minor stroke and I fought to be back on stage and I have done it.”
The duo were taken aback but were chuffed to welcome the singer back, as was show boss Simon Cowell.
Judge Cowell said: “Susan, we owe you so much, I knew you weren’t well but if anyone was going to come back, you were going to come back. It wouldn’t be the same without you.”
Susan rose to fame in 2009 after appearing as a contestant on the third series of the, singing 'I Dreamed a Dream' from Les Misérables, which she repeated tonight.
The singer appeared just before the winner was announced as Norwegian comic, Viggo Venn.
Fans were chuffed to see Susan back on the stage. One tweeted: "Aww! Susan Boyle is an absolute superstar in every sense of the word, so humble. It’s so good to see her back with her microphone!" Another wrote: "Susan Boyle’s performance (now knowing she’s recovering from a stroke) simply incredible."
