Surrey have signed the uncapped Australian all-rounder Aaron Hardie for a short stint as a replacement overseas player.
West Australian Hardie joins after representing Australia A on their tour of Sri Lanka.
He will play for Surrey for the remainder of the Vitality Blast and in the County Championship match against Yorkshire at Scarborough.
Surrey lost Kieron Pollard, the Trinidadian all-rounder, to injury for the remainder of the Blast and only currently have one regular overseas player, the South African great Hashim Amla, in the County Championship.
Hardie is well regarded in Australia and has a first-class average of 50 with the ball and 25 with the bat.
Surrey are having a good season, sitting top of the County Championship, and having already qualified for the Blast quarter-finals.
