Buckingham Palace has confirmed the surprising way Queen Camilla keeps fit as part of a list of Coronation facts published ahead of the weekend.
During the coronavirus lockdown Camilla, 72, revealed that she began her day with ballet, a "little bit of pilates" and "a lot of walking" to stay active.
She said she joined Silver Swans ballet tutorials aimed at the over-55s which are designed to improve core strength balance and flexibility.
And the Palace confirmed Camilla's passion, writing on their website : "The Queen Consort keeps fit by taking Silver Swan ballet classes."
The Queen Consort was first encouraged to take classes after visiting a Silver Swans class in New Zealand in 2019.
She said in a 2020 chat to mark International Dance Day that she "got a group of ancient friends together and the four of us clatter around and when we are in London, we do it once a week. It makes all the difference."
She added: "At first I thought it was going to be very funny and I was going to laugh at everybody toppling over next door to me. But we concentrate so hard that we don't even know what our friend next door is doing. I think to myself drop your shoulders, breathe deeply, don't hunch.
"You might groan a bit afterwards, huff, grunt and everything else. But you do feel so much better. It's fun."
Camilla added she was "very much a beginner" and said that after some practice, she had "improved a tiny bit".
She said: "I had certainly never done ballet before, and it doesn't matter whether you have done ballet or not, it's something that will make you feel better.
"It gives you a certain amount of confidence in yourself, it's just a bit of discipline."
Princess Charlotte also loves the ballet and last weekend she was spotted with the Princess of Wales at a performance of Cinderella at the Royal Opera House on Saturday.
An audience member spotted the royals at the show and tweeted: "First visit to @TheRoyalOpera in @CoventGardenLDN to see #Cinderella. Wonderful ballet with fabulous performances by a great cast. And who should be in the audience? The Princess of Wales with Princess Charlotte and her friends."
Meanwhile, a video was also shared on social media showing Charlotte taking to the stage with the dancers after the performance to pose for a special picture.
The little princess appears to be joined with several other girls her age in a purple dress with her hair in a ballerina bun with them waving wands before they try to catch glitter as it falls to the stage.
Kate dressed in a chic white blouse, black trousers and flat black shoes can also been seen in the clip going to round up the girls after their photo as she clutches a mobile phone.
Today, Charlotte is celebrating her 8th birthday and King Charles joined her parents to wish her a happy birthday.
The official Instagram account of the Royal Family, which shares news and updates on the work of the King and Queen Consort, shared a newly-released photo of Charlotte adding a sticker that says: "Happy birthday!"
