It’s been well-documented just how dismal the Tennessee Titans’ offensive line was in 2022.
By year’s end, the team was without their starting left tackle, Taylor Lewan, center, Ben Jones, and right guard, Nate Davis, all of whom were considered the Titans’ best linemen heading into the season.
This often left quarterback Ryan Tannehill to operate behind a makeshift group that could honestly be described as human turnstiles.
This type of ineptitude eventually led to Tannehill’s ankle injury, which nagged him for much of the year and was effectively the death knell for Tennessee’s 2022 campaign once he landed on injured reserve.
This is why it’s not a surprise at all to see the Titans’ starting signal-caller finishing the year with the sixth-highest percentage of passes that were thrown under pressure.
According to Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis, the Texas A&M product faced pressure on 37 percent of his passes.
The only quarterbacks who finished with a worse pressure rate were Zach Wilson (40 percent), Davis Mills (41 percent), Taylor Heinicke (42 percent), Daniel Jones (43 percent), and Justin Fields (46 percent).

The Titans used a good amount of their available resources this offseason toward revamping the offensive line, but we’ll have to wait and see how much of a difference it makes going forward.
For everybody’s sake, let’s hope things are much improved in 2023.
