Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper could be the first Premier League manager to lose his job should there be a dip in form at the club, according to TalkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino.
Forest have been the busiest club in the transfer window, bringing in 17 new players as thy build a squad capable of surviving in the Premier League. Cooper is also looking to add more faces before next week’s transfer deadline with Atletico Madrid left-back Renan Lodi the latest to be linked.
The Reds have had a sound start to life back in the top flight after a 23-year hiatus. Cooper’s men have picked up four points from their opening three games, recording their first win two weeks ago against West Ham United.

The team are back in action on Sunday when they take on Antonio Conte’s Tottenham. They then play champions Manchester City at the City Ground in a midweek encounter.
Ahead of what are two difficult games for Forest, Cascarino made a surprise prediction, saying. “If they get in any danger at all, he’ll be gone.
“As well as he’s done, he’ll be gone from that football club. Just look at the owner’s history with managers, it tells you that he will make a real quick change if he feels it’s necessary.
“If they have a difficult September, and they find themselves in the bottom three, it wouldn’t surprise me if Steve Cooper is the first manager sacked, It really wouldn’t. Even though they’ve started reasonably well, it’s really Russian Roulette at the highest level.”
Cooper has been with Forest since joining the club in September of last year. At the time the Reds were in the Championship relegation zone.
The Welshman completed a miraculous turnaround, leading Forest to promotion through the Championship play-offs at the end of the campaign. Of his 49 games in charge, Cooper has won 29, drawn 12 and lost just eight.
