Surfers have had to cool their heels for a second day at Bells Beach, with competition called off again at the Rip Curl Pro.

The waiting period started on Tuesday, but the first two days have been marred by small conditions.

The next call will be made on Thursday morning.

Australian surfer Morgan Cibilic has joined the Rip Curl Pro field as an injury replacement.

The former championship tour competitor comes in for Brazilian Miguel Pupo, who was hurt at the last round in Portugal.

Cibilic will have a tough welcome back to the world tour, with two-time former world champion John John Florence and fellow Hawaiian Barron Mamiya in his round-one heat.
