The Supreme Court has decided to intervene in a dispute concerning the storage of nuclear waste in rural Texas and New Mexico. This decision comes after the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission had overstepped its authority by granting a license to a private company to store spent nuclear fuel at a site in West Texas for a period of 40 years.
