The Petitioners
In all 15 petitions have so far been filed on the Bill which has many objections as the Opposition and sections of the Muslim community had claimed in the pleas.
The petitions have been filed in the Top Court after the Waqf (Amendment) Bill was passed by both Houses of Parliament and got assent from President Droupadi Murmu, making it a law.
One of the key petitioners is All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MP Asaduddin Owaisi, who has been a vocal critic of the amendments.
