Minnesota Governor Tim Walz expressed concern over the recent incident involving an upside-down flag at the home of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito. The flag was reportedly flown days after the January 6th riots, leading to speculation about its symbolism in relation to the insurrection and the 2020 election results.

Justice Alito clarified that he had no involvement in the flag being displayed upside down. He attributed the act to his wife, who placed it in response to objectionable language on a neighbor's yard signs. The Supreme Court did not provide a response to inquiries regarding the incident.

Governor Walz highlighted the abnormality of the situation, emphasizing that such actions are not typical. He underscored the importance of upholding the integrity of elections and democracy, particularly in light of the events surrounding the insurrection and the ongoing political climate.

Walz expressed disbelief at the need for a Supreme Court justice to explain the flag display, especially considering the established outcome of the 2020 election. He emphasized the need for focus and unity in moving the country forward, urging support for President Biden and the democratic process.

Reflecting on the broader implications of the incident, Governor Walz warned against potential challenges to future election results, citing concerns over claims of victory by former President Trump. He reaffirmed Minnesota's commitment to democracy and the rule of law, pledging to uphold the sanctity of elections and democratic principles.
