Support in place after girl, 15, dies at Borders secondary school

A 15-YEAR-OLD girl has died at a Borders secondary school.

Emergency service teams rushed to Jedburgh Grammar Campus just before 3pm on Tuesday (November 5).

Police Scotland said the death is not believed to be suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.55pm on Tuesday, November 5, we were called to a school in the Jedburgh area following concern for a 15-year-old girl.

“Police and ambulance attended, however she was pronounced dead a short time later. The death is not believed to be suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Planned school events, including parents’ evenings this week, have been suspended.

Support is also being offered to the school community.
