'Supermum' urged to 'keep fighting' after heartbreaking diagnosis

ECHO readers poured their hearts out after reading the tragic story of a mum and bride-to-be given a devastating cancer diagnosis the day after she returned from her hen do.

Kaleigh Prentice had just got back home to Mossley Hill after having the "best time" in Barcelona with her three younger sisters, as part of a 22-strong hen do party.

The next day, Kaleigh - who had already successfully fought off breast cancer once - was given the devastating news her cancer was back and had spread to her bones, lungs, liver, the area above her neck and her brain.

Kaleigh has already had four major operations following her earlier battle with cancer, including a double mastectomy. However it was hoped she was now in the clear and could go ahead with her postponed wedding to fiancé Ant and enjoy family life with their son Harry, now aged five.

Kaleigh's sister Siobhan, said: "Kaleigh has stayed so positive. She's fighting for her life but she's a 'get on with it' kind of person. Everyone refers to her as 'Supermum.' She's got a little boy and that's what keeps her going.

"She's always had the best attitude and that's spurred her on, and the rest of us. Everyone is just in awe of her."

These were some of the reactions received from ECHO readers after we ran the story yesterday.
