A shortage of popular chocolate bar, Mars Bar, has been reported by supermarkets across the UK, as a "barrage of out of stock" messages were reported across the board.
Mars Wrigley, which produces popular sweet treats like Milky Way, M&Ms, Snickers, Skittles and Twix, have said they were "experiencing high levels of demand", reports The Independent. Reports have suggested that shortages may last up to a week in some instances.

As of last night, four-packs of the chocolate bars were unavailable to buy on the Asda and Tesco websites, but single bars looked to still be in stock. Eight-packs were also sold out on the Morrisons website, but all other Mars products were all still available to buy.
Supermarkets like Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Ocado were all still fully stocked online. Another industry that is suffering drawbacks as a result of the Mars Bar shortage is the Scottish chip shops, who sell the sweet treats battered.
Joe Andreucci, owner of Edinburgh's Clam Shell takeaway on the Royal Mile, told The Telegraph: "We buy from Cash & Carry wholesalers and we currently have no stock today because we couldn’t get them. We think there is a shortage.”
One retailer told The Telegraph: "[It] looks like a production issue on Mars’s end may be causing gaps across retailers”.
A spokesman for Mars Wrigley said: “We are experiencing high levels of demand on a number of our treats.
“We are producing significant quantities and want to reassure the British public that our much-loved brands are still available nationwide.”
