A host of famous faces and cracking costumes are set to light up the biggest gathering of superheroes and superfans East Kilbride has ever experienced.
The BGCP Comic Con will welcome cosplayers, comic art classes, special guests and over 50 traders of fantasy, sci-fi and pop culture merchandise, on Saturday, November 5 and Sunday, November 6.
Previously held in EK Central Library, the popular free event will now be held over two floors in its new venue of Centre West mall in East Kilbride shopping centre.
Sci-fi and superhero icons including Iron Man, Bumblebee, Spider-Man, Predator, Pikachu, Totoro and Sonic the Hedgehog will be around to meet fans, with other ‘must see’ attractions including the Bat Signal, Green Goblin Glider, Monsters Inc Door and the Throne of Thanos.
Arcade machines and modern gaming consoles will also feature along with ‘make your own slime’ and ‘make your own superhero mask’ classes.
Superfans can also look forward to the return of the ever popular BGCP Cosplay Competition, with the top tribute outfit being named at the end of the weekend event.
Event Organiser, Ian Bonar, of BGCP Comic Con, said: "Visitors to EK Comic Con have always had a great time and created a fantastic atmosphere, and with the new location in Centre West I’m confident it will be even better than before.
"Many popular characters will be in attendance, and I expect there will be lots of visitors dressed as their personal favourites. There will also be lots of other activities as part of the two-day event and loads of items for fans to buy to add to their collections."
A spokesman for EK, East Kilbride, added: "Past years of EK Comic Con have always been tremendous fun and this year’s, based in Centre West, will be even better.
"Many visitors come from East Kilbride but we also know that there are many more who travel from further afield to enjoy the event.
"Welcoming famous cosplay characters including Iron Man, Bumblebee, The Ghostbusters, Sonic the Hedgehog and Spider-Man is a great thrill for everyone."
