Superdrug freezes prices of 5,000 beauty products amid cost of living crisis

Superdrug have announced they are freezing the prices of an additional 5,000 beauty items until the end of the year to help shoppers during the cost-of-living crisis.

The health and beauty retailer have already frozen the prices of over 130 own-brand favourites across stores to make everyday beauty more affordable for customers.

Their recent price freeze includes popular cosmetics from Maybelline, Rimmel, Revolution, e.l.f, NYX PMU, as well as smaller brands including Bourjois, Revolution Pro and Juvias Place. As inflation continues to bite hard, Superdrug's latest commitment to offer customers the best value on the high street is certainly timely.

Simon Comins, Chief Commercial Officer at Superdrug said: "When it comes to cosmetics, our customers rely on us to bring them the newest must-have trending products. We’ve seen that consumers are finding a way to navigate the current economic climate and are looking for great value and recommendations on how to shop smarter and more cost-effectively during this time.

"By taking this next step with our price freeze we hope that our customers can purchase items that provide them with a little happiness and escapism, with the knowledge that our prices won’t change."

Superdrug’s recent price freeze on products comes after several other money-saving initiatives already in place. These include Feel Good Friday’s, the exclusive Health & Beautycard member deals, Star Buys, weekly market-leading prices on selected products available to all customers and Treat Thursday’s, exclusive offers.

Superdrug also offer a 100% happiness guarantee, meaning if customers aren't completely happy with their Superdrug Own Brand product they will refund their money, along with a 25% discount off their next own-brand purchase. What's more, the high street giant have implemented a number of discounts to help staff, and their families, reduce everyday spending.

Megan Potter, Trading Director at Superdrug said: “We’re committed to supporting shoppers and colleagues in every way we can. We know our shoppers will be looking to purchase cosmetics in the lead up to Halloween and Christmas and so have taken the decision to freeze prices across all 5000 cosmetic SKUs until the end of the year in a promise to our customers that prices will not rise during this time.”
