Supercomputer predicts where Manchester United will finish in 2023/24 Premier League

Manchester United will hope to build on this season's third-place finish next term but a supercomputer has predicted a small step backwards for Erik ten Hag and his team.

United enjoyed a successful first season under Ten Hag, bringing silverware to Old Trafford with the Carabao Cup and securing a third-place finish and a place in next season's Champions League.

The Dutchman will demand a summer of investment as he hopes to build a squad fit for a title challenge, but predictions from King Casino Bonus - who analyse betting markets in order to draw their conclusions - have predicted the Reds will drop one place amid increased competition.

The main movers from this season are Liverpool, with the supercomputer backing Jurgen Klopp's side to climb into second place after a poor season. They have already signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and are expected to do more major business.

Manchester City have been backed to claim a fourth straight Premier League title, with Arsenal dropping into third. Despite the drop, United are expected to retain their place in the Champions League spots, with Newcastle United dropping into fifth and Chelsea finishing sixth.

Further down, two of the three newly-promoted sides have been backed to go straight back down with Luton Town and Sheffield United propping up the table. Burnley are expected to survive, with Bournemouth completing the bottom three.

Should United end the season in fourth, it would represent a disappointing season for a demanding club. Ten Hag may hope to challenge for the Premier League title next season, though he has already stated his aim is to finish second.

The Reds were handed a first glimpse of what next season will look like on Thursday morning as the fixture list was released. They will host Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford in their opening game on August 14, finishing the campaign at Brighton on May 19.
