Supercomputer predicts final Premier League table after World Cup break

A supercomputer has predicted that Arsenal will crumble during the second-half of the Premier League season, with Manchester City set to surge to a third successive title.

The Gunners are currently five points clear of Pep Guardiola's side, having lost just one game before the break for the World Cup. But since then, star striker Gabriel Jesus has been hit by injury and is set for an extended spell on the sidelines.

Eddie Nketiah is the only natural back-up for the Brazil international, leaving Arsenal's hopes of winning a first title for 19 years in doubt. City meanwhile have lost twice, but with Erling Haaland in their ranks, they are set to be the Gunners' closest challengers.

And a new supercomputer from BonusCodeBets has predicted that it will be Guardiola's side who will lift the title in May. The campaign gets back underway from Boxing Day, with most teams have 24 matches still to play before the curtain comes down.

It is forecasted to be a disappointing second-half of the season for the Gunners though, with Mikel Arteta's men predicted to finish second. City will once again march to the title, for the what would be their fifth time finishing top in six years.

Arsenal will get their league campaign back underway with a clash against West Ham, while City will travel to Leeds. Liverpool may have had a disappointing first-half of the season, but the supercomputer has predicted the Reds will finish third.

Jurgen Klopp's men are currently sixth, eight points behind Newcastle, who currently occupy that spot. The Magpies are instead forecasted to collapse to fifth place, having had their hopes raised by Eddie Howe and their Saudia Arabia owners.

In between those two sides will be Tottenham, who are currently third, with Antonio Conte's men set to cling on to a Champions League place. That means there will be no top four spot for Manchester United.

Instead, Erik ten Hag's men are forecasted to fall back to sixth, and with it a Europa League place. Graham Potter is not expected to improve Chelsea's fortunes by much, with the Blues to be consigned to a Europa Conference League spot by finishing seventh.

Potter's men endured a six-game winless run heading into the World Cup break, but their fortunes will not improve dramatically. They will though finish ahead of Brighton, with the Seagulls ending an impressive season in eighth.

Crystal Palace and Aston Villa will round off the top-half, with Unai Emery expected to continue his bright start in Birmingham. Leicester City are also forecasted to safely avoid relegation by claiming 11th place, a positive result given their dreadful start.

West Ham are also predicted to pull safely away from the drop-zone to finish 12th, with Brentford enduring a slump from the top-half to finish 13th. Fulham are also expected to collapse, though the newly-promoted Cottagers will likely be happy to finish 14th.

Leeds, Southampton and Everton will be the final teams to claim safety, though the Toffees will not be happy to finish 17th. That means that Wolves, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest will all be relegated, with the latter finishing bottom.
