Supercomputer predicts Everton fate with final Premier League table standings

A supercomputer has given Everton a 38% chance of avoiding relegation and playing Premier League football again next season.

The Blues drew 2-2 when they took on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Monday night despite taking a 1-0 lead through a Dominic Calvert-Lewin penalty in the first half.

However, Sean Dyche's side are currently 19th in the Premier League after drawing three and losing three of their last six matches.

Everton face a tricky next match as they take on high-flying Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Monday evening.

Six points separate the bottom five in the Premier League. At this stage, it looks like any three of Southampton, Everton, Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and Leicester City could be playing Championship football next season.

Football analytical site FiveThirtyEight have given the Blues a 38% chance of surviving as they face a tough end to the campaign. The supercomputer thinks it is 98% likely the Saints will be relegated.

Nottingham Forest currently occupy 18th place and are a single point above Dyche's men and they have been predicted to have a 47% chance of spending a second season in a row in the top flight.

Leeds have taken action to avoid the drop by sacking Javi Gracia and appointing Sam Allardyce for the final four games as the supercomputer gives the Yorkshire side a 42% chance of safety.

Despite being only a point above Everton, Leicester are the side most likely to survive, according to the supercomputer. The Foxes are 72% likely to be playing in the Premier League next term.

That means the bottom three is currently predicted as: 18th - Leeds. 19th - Everton. 20th - Southampton.
