Superbad actor Michael Cera welcomes baby but Amy Schumer hijacks announcement

Amy Schumer may have landed herself in Michael Cera’s bad books after she blurted out the surprise news that he is a father.

The 40-year-old actress and the 33-year-old Canadian actor are starring together in upcoming Hulu comedy series Life & Beth and have been hitting the promotion trial together.

Michael, who has appeared in a number of comedy films over the years including Superbad, Juno and was also a main character in comedy show Arrested Development, is notoriously private about his personal life.

He secretly married his longtime girlfriend Nadine in 2018 and it now appears the pair have welcomed a child together – although it is not clear exactly when the bundle of joy arrived.

Mum-of-one Amy spilled the beans while she and Michael were being interviewed about their new show by Entertainment Tonight.

The comedy star was being questioned about her motherhood journey, when she blurted out: "Michael has a baby, too. Is that public knowledge?...I just outed him, I just outed his baby."

Michael then gave a rare comment about his private life as he admitted he was enjoying getting to grips with parenthood.

He said: "We're right at the beginning of it. We're doing the very basics right now."

Amy is proud mum to two-year-old son Gene who she welcomed with her 41-year-old chef husband Chris Fischer back in May 2019.

The actress recently opened up about her IVF battle to become a mother a second time during a chat with podcast host and fellow comedienne, Chelsea Handler.

She explained: “I did IVF, we made embryos and I went through the IVF process, which is so hard.

“People do it so many times. I did it one time and I was like, ‘I’m gonna die. This is awful.’

“I got like 31 eggs and I was like, I'm Fertile Myrtle. I felt very hot. And then the drop off after fertilization, we only got one normal embryo and we tried and it didn't work … and now I don't have a uterus.”

The star had previously had her uterus and appendix removed in order to treat her endometriosis last year.

Amy went on to say she is enjoying mothering her young son.

She said: We tried, but yeah we're just gonna have the one perfect little adorable angel.

“I’m excited about it but I was sad. And it's not really something you get sympathy for because it's like, you already have one b***h, shut up. But you know, that's a real struggle people go through.”

Amy had previously opened up about her brutal IVF journey, sharing candid photos of her bruised stomach where she had injected hormones as part of the treatment – winning applause from fans for her openness about her pregnancy attempt.
