A cafe and shop featuring goods based on characters from the Super Mario game franchise opened at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka on Friday.
With its mushroom-shaped tables and walls decorated with the games' signature question mark blocks, Mario Cafe & Store allows visitors to step into the world of characters from the popular series, ahead of the opening of the new Super Nintendo World area at USJ next spring.
Items on sale in the store include T-shirts, cushions and sweets in the shape of Mario and Luigi's hats, among other original products.
When the store was unveiled to the press on Thursday, USJ LLC Vice President Taku Murayama said, "We want to use the store to help build excitement prior to the opening of the new area."
