Super League and Catalans Dragons have reached a television deal with French broadcaster beIN Sports.
The deal will see at least nine of Catalans Dragons’ 13 home fixtures in 2022 shown live in France, providing a big boost for the sport.
As well as Catalans’ home games, the deal will also see a host of UK-based games covered starting on Thursday when Steve McNamara’s side travel to the Totally Wicked Stadium to face St Helens in the season opener.
The governing body has also confirmed that the Dragons’ first two home games will be available to watch in the UK on Sky Sports.
As such, Sky will add the French side’s clashes with Wakefield Trinity and Wigan Warriors to their already busy schedule of rugby league.
On the announcement Ken Davy, Super League chairman, said: “On the back of a fantastic 2021 season for Catalans Dragons it is great that we can reach an agreement that will see beIN broadcast so many games from France.
“The fantastic scenes in Perpignan when the Dragons defeated Hull KR in the semi-final to make the 2021 Grand Final will live long in the memory.”
