Super Break and Late Rooms go into administration - how it affects your holiday

The parent company of travel brands Super Break and LateRooms.com has collapsed, affecting tens of thousands of travellers.

Parent company Malvern Group announced that it has ceased trading with immediate effect.

What to do if you're already on a Super Break holiday

Around 400 customers are currently on holiday.

Malvern Group warned that Super Break customers currently on holiday may be asked to pay again for their hotel and say "please ensure you keep your receipt."

They add: "As your reservation was Hotel Only, we recommend that where you have paid by credit/debit card that you contact your bank/credit card provider."

However, Super Break was a Member of Abta who said the "vast majority of holidaymakers' arrangements" will be covered through one of a number of different types of financial protection.

Abta say: "If you are currently on a Super Break holiday which is an Abta protected package (rail or other non-flight packages) you should be able to continue with your trip as planned, but you can contact Abta if you encounter any difficulties with arrangements.

"If you are on a Super Break holiday which is an Atol protected package (flight-based packages) you should be able to continue with your trip as planned but if you encounter any difficulties you should contact the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

"If you are experiencing difficulties in resort and require assistance, contact Abta on 020 3117 0553."

What to do if you have a Super Break holiday booked

Super Break had around 20,000 bookings involving approximately 53,000 people.

If you have booked a holiday with Super Break, bookings that have not departed may be cancelled.

If you have made a booking with a travel agent/partner, contact them in the first instance.

If your holiday includes a flight, you need to contact the CAA directly to make a claim for your holiday booking.

If you have booked a holiday which includes accommodation and travel (excluding flights) and/or other services with Super Break and you paid by credit or debit card, you should be able to claim through your credit card company.

Your credit card company may ask you for a referral letter from ABTA, so to help you with your claim, you can download a letter from the Abta website.

If you paid Super Break by any other means, you will need to make a claim from ABTA, you can do this through this link:  abta.com/claims

Hotel accommodation-only bookings

If you made a booking with Super Break for accommodation only, the company chose not to protect those sales with ABTA.

If you booked accommodation only then you will need to submit a claim to your credit or debit card company.

Your credit card company may ask you for a referral letter from ABTA, so to help you with your claim, you can download a letter from the Abta website.

If you paid by any other method you will need to register your claim with the Administrator when appointed. Abta will update this webpage with their details as soon as possible.

What to do if you've bought a Super Break gift voucher

Vouchers are no longer valid/accepted to those who bought gift vouchers or tickets to events or attractions have been told to seek a refund from their debit or credit card provider if that was how they paid.

What to do if you booked via LateRooms.com

Malvern Group expects reservations with LateRooms.com to be secure as the website acted as an agent on behalf of accommodation providers and did not take any payments.

They add: "We recommend however that you contact your accommodation supplier directly prior to travelling to confirm. You can find their contact details on your booking confirmation. To amend or cancel your booking you will need to contact the accommodation supplier directly."
