Super Bowl odds for the Raiders rise after Davante Adams trade

The Raiders have traded for the best wide receiver in football in Davante Adams. They had to give up their first and second-round picks to do so, but they are now a much better team today than they were at this time yesterday.

But how much did that trade impact their odds to win Super Bowl 57?

According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Raiders are now +4000 to win the Super Bowl. That is up from +6000 just a few days ago. So while the Raiders certainly aren’t the favorites, oddsmakers believe that the Adams trade significantly improved their chances of winning the Super Bowl.

However, one of the reasons those odds aren’t better is due to their division. The Chiefs have won the AFC West in six straight seasons and they bring back the same core again in 2022. The Broncos added Russell Wilson (and Randy Gregory) while the Chargers have added an old friend in Khalil Mack.

The AFC West is the best division in football and it’s very likely that one, if not two, of these teams are going to miss the playoffs just due to the strength of the division. However, the odds for the Raiders to win the AFC West have improved since the trade (+600).

The Raiders are going to have to really improve in order to win the AFC West and they will likely need 12 to 13 wins to do so. But with Adams and Chandler Jones on the roster, this is a much better team now than it was two days ago. They have now have the firepower on offense and defense to compete with the best teams in the conference.

They aren’t Super Bowl favorites yet. But they have to be one of the better darkhorse candidates in the league. Watch out for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022.
