Suns’ Torrey Craig Had Tooth Knocked Out Defending Giannis

Guarding Giannis Antetokounmpo is no easy feat and Torrey Craig found that out the hard way on Tuesday night.

In the third quarter of the Suns’ 116–104 loss to the Bucks, Craig took on the always difficult task of trying to stop Antetokounmpo from getting down the court on a fast break. The veteran forward managed to do so but took a strong shoulder from the Milwaukee star in the process that sent him flying to the ground.

Craig quickly reached for his face and held his hands on his head for a few seconds. He then put his hand over his mouth before crouching over and picking up a tooth that had been knocked out on the play from the court.

The Suns were able to call a timeout after a missed three-point attempt from Bucks center Brook Lopez and Craig went over to the bench where he was attended to by Phoenix training staff. Antetokounmpo also walked over and checked in on the 32-year-old before they each returned to their team’s respective huddles.

Craig, who had his fair share of physical encounters with Antetokounmpo over the course of the evening, didn’t let the lost tooth affect him for long. After the timeout, he returned to the game and finished the night with six points in 22 minutes played.
