Gold Coast are hunting a debut AFL finals appearance and coach Stuart Dew says they are treating every opponent like a danger game.
The Suns (6-6) will enter Sunday's clash with Adelaide (4-8) at Metricon Stadium as warm favourites having won four of their last five game.
But Gold Coast's barren 12-season history without a finals berth has Dew ramming home a message to be ruthless.
"You drop your guard and the competition gives you a little reminder," Dew said.
"We learn all the time from across the competition and make sure that we're prepared...they're all danger games.
"I say it every time, we plan for the opposition's best and make sure we bring ours."
Gold Coast had the bye last weekend, following a productive two-week stint in the Northern Territory, resulting in crushing victories over Hawthorn and North Melbourne.
The only downside of their time in Darwin was losing running defender Lachie Weller to a season-ending knee injury.
Resurgent forward Levi Casboult will return to the line-up against the Crows after a calf complaint ruled him out against the Kangaroos.
"There's a few guys playing well in the VFL but, when the seniors are delivering, they've just got to keep knocking on the door," Dew said.
"It's good, healthy competition from within.
"The harder our job it is to pick a team, the better it is for the club."
