If you're hoping to travel on the cheap this summer, you may want to book a holiday to Turkey.
News from exchange expert Saxo reports that the Turkish lira is now worth more than double against the pound compared to this time last year.
With the pound having slipped against some major currencies, it's welcome news for travellers.

Sterling's value against the euro and the dollar has stabilised - at the time of writing (Thursday, July 7) today's rates puts the Euro at 1.1274 against the pound while the US Dollar sits at 1.151, according to Post Office exchange rates.
Spending power in Turkey puts Brits in the driving seat for bargain purchases - the current advised exchange rate, again with the Post Office foreign currency service, puts the Turkish Lira at 19.163.
So, when it comes to what you can get for your money, how does that translate on the ground?
Belfast Live has reported that if you fancy a pint of local beer whilst on your holiday in Turkey, you'd be paying the equivalent of just £1.99.
And if you've been wincing at the price every time you fill your car up with petrol in the UK, it will be welcome news that petrol in Turkey sells at an average of 94p per litre. Eating out is good value, with the average bill for a dinner for two in a local restaurant coming in at just £14, according to the latest survey.
UK visitors no longer have to produce a negative Covid test or proof of vaccination to enter Turkey, according to the latest government advice, which says that Turkey has removed Covid-19 travel restriction for entry.
It says passengers arriving in Turkey are "no longer required to present proof of vaccination or negative PCR test results".
However, advice remains to check the entry requirements before travel as they may change with little warning.
Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) currently advises against travel to areas within 10km of the border with Syria, except the city of Kilis. It also advises "against all but essential travel to the remaining areas of Sirnak, Kilis (including Kilis city) and Hatay provinces."
