A legend of the South Ayrshire caravan park game has racked up an incredible 45 years' service in the industry.
Dave Brown is celebrating his special 45-year milestone – the last 24 of which have been spent at Parkdean Resorts’ Sundrum Castle.
Having joined the industry as a cashier at the age of 18, Dave has worked in customer services, accounts and operations management at various venues.
He became general manager at Sundrum Castle in 1998 and has gone on to train many youngsters over the years – including his own daughters Lynsey and Nicola, who also work at the park as owner and guest experience manager and complex manager respectively.
To celebrate his landmark and thank him for his service, operations director Barrie Robinson surprised Dave at home with a certificate, a voucher for £4,500 and a bottle of single malt Scotch whisky.
He said: “Dave is a legendary figure at Parkdean Resorts. He has shown true commitment to Sundrum Castle holiday park for almost all of his career and is now shaping the future of our transformation projects as a subject matter expert, having stepped back from park life.
"He’s had a huge impact on the careers of so many people at the park and across our wider business, and we couldn’t be happier to celebrate this incredible milestone.”
Dave added: “Holiday parks have been my life, and I’m proud to have worked at Sundrum Castle and with Parkdean Resorts for all these years.
"To have the career I’ve had is testament to the opportunities that exist in the hospitality sector.
"I never get tired of training and developing young talent and I get a real thrill seeing them develop and progress in our business.”
Sundrum Castle employs almost 100 people in peak season and welcomed almost 23,000 visitors last year.
Parkdean Resorts is the UK’s leading holiday park operator with 66 parks and employs more than 750 employees in Scotland across eight parks.
